Updates on Graduation Concerns

May 22, 2020

It has been brought to our attention that there have been concerns posted on social media regarding the Drive Thru Graduation/Promotion Ceremonies for the middle and high schools.

The Health Order dated May 1, 2020, by the Monterey County Health Officer, Dr. Moreno, prohibits all public and private gatherings of any number of people occurring outside a single household or living unit which includes events such as athletic events, concerts, and graduation ceremonies. As a result of the shelter in place order by Dr. Moreno and in working in conjunction with the MCOE, we have put together  the current Drive-Thru Graduation Protocols. The District was required to have these protocols approved by Dr. Moreno before moving forward with the ceremonies.   Also, there is no time table for when a traditional ceremony would be approved by Dr. Moreno later in the year.    The health & safety of our students, staff, and the entire Soledad Community are our highest priority.  We appreciate your patience as we work through these challenging times.
