Randy Bangs

Randy Bangs has served as Superintendent of the Soledad Unified School District since July 2021.

His focus has been on ensuring a safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment for students across our schools. This has been especially critical as the district has navigated the many challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Bangs has also worked to conduct facilities planning efforts while keeping families engaged in the opportunities and challenges facing Soledad USD.

Bangs previously served as principal of Main Street Middle School during the 1997-98 school year, before moving on to become principal of Soledad High School the next year. He later spent 12 years as assistant superintendent in the Salinas Unified School District.

Bangs returned to Soledad USD as Assistant Superintendent in 2018 before becoming interim superintendent in the 2020-21 school year. The Board of Education named him the district’s permanent Superintendent, effective July 1, 2021.
