Our mental health services include counselors, social workers, Monterey County Behavioral Health clinicians, and the teletherapy service, Daybreak Health. School Counselors
Role and Services:
Academic Support: Assist students with course selection, college applications, and academic challenges.
Personal and Social Development: Provide individual and group counseling to help students navigate personal and social issues.
Crisis Intervention: Offer immediate support during a crisis and coordinate with other mental health professionals as needed.
Social Workers
Role and Services:
Case Management: Coordinate services between school, home, and community to address students’ needs.
Support Groups: Facilitate groups for students facing similar issues such as grief, family changes, or social skills.
Resource Connection: Connect families with external resources such as housing assistance, food programs, and additional counseling services.
Monterey County Behavioral Health Clinicians
Role and Services:
Therapeutic Services: Provide one-on-one therapy sessions for students dealing with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and trauma.
Behavioral Interventions: Develop and implement behavior plans to support students’ positive behavior in school.
Daybreak Health (Teletherapy Service)
Role and Services:
Online Therapy Sessions: Provide convenient, confidential, and accessible therapy sessions through a secure online platform.
Licensed Therapists: Connect students with licensed mental health professionals who specialize in adolescent mental health.
Flexible Scheduling: Offer flexible scheduling to accommodate students’ busy schedules, including evening and weekend appointments.

How to Access Services
Steps to Access Mental Health Services:
Referral: Students can be referred by teachers, parents, or self-refer by contacting a school counselor or social worker.
Initial Assessment: A mental health professional will conduct an initial assessment to determine the most appropriate services.
Service Provision: Based on the assessment, students will be connected with the relevant service provider (counselor, social worker, behavioral health clinician, or Daybreak Health).
Ongoing Support: Students will receive ongoing support and follow-up to ensure their needs are being met.
