  • PIQE Parent Institute for Quality Education is a national organization with a linguistically and culturally responsive, evidence-based model offered in 16 languages and replicated across the country and in California that engages, empowers, and transforms families to actively engage in their children’s education and strengthen family-school collaboration.

    Signature Family Engagement Program

    The Family Engagement Program educates, empowers, and inspires families to take an active role in their student’s education while building community and a peer-to-peer network. Families are engaged in programming that encourages fostering a positive educational environment at home and at school to increase academic success.

    • 8-week program: Once a week, 75 minute-sessions virtual/in-person and a 90 minute-session in-person
    • Families better understand how to navigate the school system, access relevant information for student success, and college admission requirements

    Bridge to College Program

    In response to the Summer Melt Phenomena, the Bridge to College program is focused on supporting students and families in the transition from high school to a college/university setting.

    • 4-week program, Once a week, 75 minute-sessions 
    • Includes key college-going information on financial aid resources, room and board, academic advising, and social-emotional support

    Mindset Academy is Back!

    Mindset Academy’s comprehensive program offers students essential support through school-wide inspiring assemblies, structured recess activities, and social-emotional learning (SEL) lessons. These services are designed to foster positive behavior, enhance campus climate, and equip students with the skills needed to manage emotions and transitions effectively. By partnering with Mindset Academy, we are ensuring that our district provides targeted, tiered support that addresses the diverse needs of our students, ultimately contributing to their overall well-being and academic success. This partnership reinforces our commitment to creating a supportive and proactive educational environment.

     

  • A.V.I.L.A Victory Boxing’s main purpose is to build, promote, and nurture a positive outlook through physical training programs for all youth and adults. Through the art of boxing, we shape body and mind through techniques designed to focus on self-discipline, commitment, and resilience. Our programs center on creating and enhancing character building and life-long skills by fostering team unity, collaboration, and motivation to contribute to our community. A.V.I.L.A represents Ambition, Valor, Integrity, Loyalty, and Achievement. AVB believes with these 5 virtues anyone will be able to accomplish, succeed and be resilient.

  • Special Kids Connect develops resources, raises awareness, and provides support to families with children who have disabilities in Monterey County. To achieve its mission, Special Kids Connect seeks opportunities to conduct outreach events, conferences, and workshops for South Monterey County families, many of whom are “underserved” due to language/culture, income, immigration status, and geographic proximity to Salinas and Monterey Peninsula-based services.

  • The Epicenter’s Friday Night Live (FNL) program is designed for high school-aged young people. It is motivated by youth-adult partnerships that create essential and powerful opportunities that enhance and improve local communities. Community service, social action activities, participation in advocacy for safe and healthy environments, and promotion of healthy policies are organized by youth to appeal to youth.

    • Encourage young people to develop programs that are fun and meaningful
    • Promote messages through shared experiences
    • Encourage peer-oriented programming (youth driven and youth led)
    • Are goal-directed, action oriented, and innovative
    • Encourage and empower young people as active leaders and community resources
    • Have broad appeal to diverse ethnic, racial and social groups
    • Encourage youth to care about each other and their environment
    • Offer conferences and trainings for young people to develop leadership skills

  • Sun Street Center  and Soledad Unified School District are dedicated to building healthy and safe communities. The Prevention staff will provide a variety of services to students  and their families in order to build awareness and promote action toward resolving community health problems relating to drug and alcohol abuse.

  • Partners For Peace is dedicated to building strong families for a peaceful community by providing prevention and intervention family education classes to parents/caregivers. Partners For Peace focuses on social competencies, parenting skills, and parent-child relationships.   

     

    • Parent Project
      • For Parents/Caregiver of youth ages 2 - 10 with challenging or destructive behaviors
      • 10-week, two-hour curriculum that focuses on healthy eating and sleeping, positive discipline, school success, communication and bonding
      • Parent-family will benefit from parent-youth time together, structure and rules at home and ability of parent-youth to communicate and to discuss problems together.
      • Families will gain knowledge on drugs, alcohol use, truancy & violence.

    • Loving Solutions
      • For Parents/Caregivers of youth ages 11-17 yr olds of strong willed or highly impulsive children. 
      • Families will focus on healthy eating/sleeping/school habits and positive parenting skills.

    • Strengthening Families
      • For Parents/Caregivers of youth ages 11-17 yr olds to build bonding relationships, boundaries and monitoring skills
      • Both parents and youth will work together to build communication and problem-solving skills, receive tools to enhance youth peer resistance skills, school success and parenting/caregiver skills.
