SUSD 2016 RFP District Network Cabling Upgrade – Amendment 1
Questions & Answers:
Q: Was the new singlemode going from MDF to all IDFs going to be 6 strand or 12 strand?
A: 6 stand singlemode fiber
Q: Is there an accurate cable count available per site including the offices and non-classroom locations?
A: There is no accurate cable count, this was the purpose of the site walk.
Q: Is there going to be any more amendments to this proposal?
A: No more amendments.
Q: Is there a preferred color designated to identify service for CAT6A, CAT6, jacks and patch cables?
A. Jacks can be white/neutral color. We want all CAT6 cabling to be one color, all CAT6A cabling to be a different color, we have no color preference so long as coloring is uniform throughout all schools in the district. For fiber, orange. For patch cables, we do have color requests:
Green – Wifi (Cat6a)
Black- Security Cameras (Cat6)
Blue- General Use (Cat6)
Red- Important Uplinks (Cat6 or Cat6a)
White- Printers (cat6)
