Soledad High School Track & Field Modernization

Soledad High School Track & Field Modernization

The modernization of the Soledad High School stadium is the flagship project of Measure E, which voters approved in November 2024.  The project replaces the track and field and upgrades the stadium facilities used by students, athletes, and the community for physical education, athletics, graduation, and community events.

The design was shaped by input from the Board of Trustees, campus administrators, coaching staff, facilities staff, and the community, including a community event held on June 3, 2026.  On September 9, 2026, the Board of Trustees awarded the lease-leaseback construction contract to Bothman Construction, which allows the contractor to work alongside the design team on pricing, constructability, and construction logistics before work begins.

The project is now completing design.  It was registered with the Division of the State Architect (DSA) in September 2026, and submission of the construction documents for DSA review is planned for mid-November 2026.

Project team:  Architect, Peartree + Belli Architects.  Sports field design, Verde Design.  Lease-leaseback contractor, Bothman Construction.  Program and Construction Manager, Van Pelt Construction Services.

Schedule:  Construction is anticipated to begin in Summer/Fall 2027, dependent on DSA approval of the design.  The District is coordinating the construction schedule around graduation and the athletic seasons, and will share construction dates and any impacts to games and events once the schedule is set.
